If you’ve ever worn heels, you know how exhausting it feels at the end of the day, especially if you did a lot of walking or dancing. I love heels and used to wear them all the time (before all the babies and pregnancies). Even if you are used to wearing them everyday for long periods of time, your feet will still be killing you at the end of the day. How many times have you seen girls give up and just take their shoes off completely and walk barefoot? I haven’t personally done it, but I’ve seen many girls take their heels off. I have never thought of bringing a change of shoes with me, because even the tiniest flats or flops are still bulky. But then I came across this company…
CitySlips has been created by 2 girls who just wouldn’t give up their heels even though they were causing them a lot of pain. So they came up with a very cool solution to the problem. They created foldable shoes which come with a small carrying pouch and a tote bag. The pouch with shoes is so small that it can easily fit in your bag. When you just can’t take your heels anymore, you can reach for your CitySlips, unfold the pouch and throw your heels into the tote bag. Sounds confusing? It’s really not!
When my CitySlips arrived, I couldn’t believe all that came with them. They were packaged in a nice box with a see-through window. This box contained two folded ballet flats and a pouch which kind of reminded me of a clutch. When I opened the pouch, I found that inside of it was a bag. When you pull out the bag’s handles, it turns into a small tote bag! Can you tell how impressed I was? I then unfolded the shoes and put them on my feet. And this is where my only disappointment comes in. I am a size 9-10 and I got CitySlips in a size Large which is supposed to fit sizes 9-10.5. While I could fit into the CitySlips, they ended up being pretty tight on my feet. Tight enough for me to not be able to wear them comfortably. Thus if you have large feet, I would recommend the CityFlips – foldable flip flops. If I knew that the Slips wouldn’t fit me properly, I would have picked the flips flops. So I passed these on to a friend with smaller feet so she can give me her opinion as well. She is usually a size 8-9 and large CitySlips fit her perfectly. She said they are super comfy to walk in and she was just as impressed with the whole package as I was.
Aside from all that, the CitySlips themselves are super soft and super comfortable. They are leather-y on the outside and very soft on the inside. I love the fact that it’s not just the inside sole that’s soft, but also the sides of the shoes. CitySlips are sturdy enough for daily indoor and outdoor use. However they are not meant to replace regular shoes and will wear out sooner than regular flats. CitySlips are meant to be an emergency back up to heels.
CitySlips retail at only $24.95 a pair. That’s actually cheaper than any regular flats on the market. So whether you want a back up for your heels or just a pair of flats, CitySlips are a great and inexpensive choice! You can pick these up online or at over 500+ retailers including Dillard’s, Ricky’s NYC, Travel Traders and others.
One lucky winner will receive a pair of CitySlips of their choice (RV$24.95)
