Breastfeeding is one of my favourite things when it comes to raising babies. For me, there isn’t a more intimate and better way to connect with my child. I breastfed my son until he was about 14 months old. Yet somehow, I always avoided breastfeeding outside the house. In fact, I only breastfed him in public once and that was on the plane to Mexico when he was 13 months old! Now with my daughter, I feel more confident and could care less what others think. If we are out and she’s hungry, I’ll feed her. I’ve been using a receiving blanket to cover her up while she’s nursing. It’s a solution that works, but it’s not very convenient when you’re out in the park and you’re trying to latch the baby on while trying not to expose yourself or suffocate your baby under such a small blanket. I figured since I’m breastfeeding in public now so often now, I might as well get something that looks nice and works at the same time!
While searching the internet for the best nursing cover, I stumbled upon the Booby Trapper. I was intrigued, because Booby Trapper is a mom-based Canadian business. The nursing cover has won awards, has been used by celebrities and has been featured at the Golden Globe awards. And more importantly, it looked pretty!
Booby Trapper very generously provided one of their nursing covers for this review. When I received the package, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful print of the canopy called Sophistication. I didn’t know which one I was getting and I couldn’t be more happy with the one I got. The Booby Trapper was neatly folded into a small flat rectangular, but once I unfolded it, it turned into a large piece of material with 2 plastic rims. I put the cover on and everything made sense right away. The plastic inserts are there to make an opening at the top so you can see the baby. Booby Trapper features 2 rims as opposed to just one like in a traditional nursing cover. The 2 rims allow a bigger open space for baby. Booby Trapper is also larger in size than other nursing covers to allow more coverage for mom.
I took my family to a park to try out the Booby Trapper. I sat on a bench, put baby on my lap and slipped the cover on. Latching baby was not a problem as there was so much space which the 2 plastic rims created. I could see baby from the top and she could see me back! She also had enough open space and access to air and didn’t get all sweaty like she used to under a small receiving blanket. I felt comfortable and relaxed while using the Booby Trapper. It did all the work for me, made sure baby can breathe and I’m covered.
To find out how the Booby Trapper works, you can watch a video. Being new to nursing covers, I learned why Booby Trapper is a superior nursing canopy. I also learned how to fold it properly! I didn’t know how to go about the plastic rims, but the video explained it perfectly. And more importantly, I learned that I don’t need to cover myself up so tightly like I did in the photo (although it might look like the cover is flat, there was actually a lot of space inside. And the baby is really in there too even though she can’t bee seen.)
I am so glad to have the Booby Trapper in my diaper bag! It has come in handy many times now and I’ll keep on using it for as long as I’m breastfeeding my girl. I don’t just use it when I’m out in the park, I use it at the doctor’s office, restaurants and even at home when guests are over. I would absolutely recommend this nursing canopy to all nursing mothers. I think it would also make a great gift for a mom-to-be.

I watched the video and not only learned that how to fold it without ruining it, but I learned a tip for dressing for breastfeeding. It never occured to me to have an undershirt to go downward, what a great idea.
Plum Perfect is my favorite and the one I would choose to win.
