REVIEW

I used to be a big candle fan, but since I added two kids to my family, I’ve forgotten all about candles. It was a nice treat to light up a candle (by a computer of course) and enjoy a warming flame and a delightful scent. I got the Shimmering Lotion Travel Candle in Lavender. It didn’t smell like pure lavender to me, but it still smelled nice. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of a candle which can double up as a body moisturizer. Once the candle melts, it creates a pool of oil. This oil, once the candle is off, can be poured onto the body and used for a relaxing massage. Before I cover myself head to toe in any new skin care product, I test it out on my arms first as my skin is pretty sensitive. First, I read that it can be used on cuticles, so I just dipped my finger in and moisturized my cuticles. I then used some oil on my hands and continued onto my arms. My hands liked the warm oil, but my arms started to itch and turned a bit red. I discontinued using the candle to prevent any further skin reactions and just enjoyed the flame.

I wish I could use more of Scandle lotion, but I was scared to have my skin break out. This body oil smells really nice and feels great on the skin. It’s got tiny shimmering particles to add glow to the skin. I’ve just been lighting it up by computer and dipping my fingers in to moisturize my cuticles. Hey, whatever works, right? :) And as a bonus, my 3 month old was pretty distracted by the burning flame (about half a meter away for safety), which gave me a bit of quiet time.

FINAL WORD

Scandle Shimmering Lotion Candle is a fun idea. I have a lot of friends who love candles and also love body lotions. I think they would have a blast with it. My sensitive skin didn’t let me put this candle to a full test, but I can tell you that it’s a fun product. We all buy nice expensive candles for our homes and once they are burnt out, they go in the garbage. With Scandle, as it burns, you can actually use it for something else (body moisturizer). And once it’s all finished, you can either recycle or reuse the little tin for something else.
